Publications about Lactéol®
The active ingredient of Lactéol® is heat-treated Lactobacillus LB and its culture medium. Acute diarrhoea in children
A Randomised controlled trials in children Addition of L. acidophilus LB to oral rehydration therapy was effective in the treatment of children aged 3 to 24 months with acute diarrhoea by decreasing the duration of diarrhoea.

Chronic diarrhoea
In a multicentre RCT, involved 137 patients with chronic diarroea, the clinical symptoms were markedly improved in the Lactéol fort ® group, indicating that L. acidophilus LB is more effective than living lactobacilli

Antibiotic-associated diarrhoea
An exploratory study (n=325) on the effect of Lactéol® on antibiotic – associated bowel disturbances in a primary care population suggest that a 1-week Lactéol ® treatment may reduce the risks of diarrhoea associated with antibiotic treatment.

Irritable bowel syndrome
An observational investigation (n=297) demonstrated beneficial effect in health-related quality of life (including no. of symptomatic days, no. of stools and consistency of stools) with no side effects in patients with IBS-D.

Bifidogenic Effect
A newly published pre-clinical trial demonstrated Lactobacillus LB stimulated the growth of bifidobacteria in human fermented fecal communities and in pure culture.
